Interview ^^

so,, haven't blogged in a couple of days. well i have an excuse.. nothing thaat interesting's been happening lately. but today was kindaa interesting- had my interview at Lollipops Castle Hill today (just got back actually). the guy called me up last wed when I was studying for INFS to tell me he wanted me to go in for an interview. weird thing is though, i applied there wayyy back in Feb, even before uni started and I didn't hear back from them til now -___-. but nonetheless, it's still an interview, which is a positive thing :D

the interview was at 2.30pm, we left the house about 2ish, but needed time to actually find the place itself. it's on hudson ave, near the bowling/rock climbing places (brought back memories of year nine intra sport hehe). anyways the whole area is pretty 'industralised' , so like all the small businesses, factory-type places.. so i was kinda surprised to see a 'Kindalin' branch there, as well as Lollipops itself.. not really where I'd picture a kids place to be.
we arrived with about twenty mintues to spare, so I took a short nap cos I was feeling really tired at the time. decided to go in ten minutes earlier- just in case i needed to fill in any forms etc.. went inside to the sound of really low, but loud basey music and kids yelling. went up to the front desk and they gave me forms to fill out, just basic stuff as well as 'strengths/weaknesses' and any other relevant experience. didn't really know what to put for 'experience' so i just put down my work at church with the kids :P oh that and my yr ten work experience at Kindalin.. lol :P

had to wait a bit cos apparently the guy was on the phone. when i did get in, he brought me to one of their 'party rooms' for the interview.. even when he closed the door it was still really noisy -___-. he seemed ok, not too scary i guess. started asking me if I had ever been to Lollipops.. lol i had to make up something random like, "yeah in the past...'' sif I've ever been there before!
he then told me about the place itself, and I was kinda annoyed cos I had actually bothered to go onto the website and research all about the place, since I knew that they would ask me something along the lines of 'so what do you know about this place?' but no, he just kept talking about the place and how he had taken it over from some other guy recently. he then told me about the roles and what they involved, then asked me about myself, my availability, previous work experience etc. then he asked me why I wanted the job! lol i'd prepared an answer acutally, which did include the ''money'' aspect- but i didn't wanna come across as being a money-minded type of person, so i pretty much just said for the experience/learn new skills etc. :S he also asked what ''good customer service'' meant, to which I gave another pre-prepared answer (which he seemed ok with).

all in all, for a first interview (well first, because the maccas one did NOT count- it was more like a ''casual chat'') it was def an eye-opener. even though i did prepare before-hand, i'll definitely be more prepared for any future ones, cos at least then i'll know what they expect; and not just at a theoretical level.
anyways just glad it's all done. he said he'd contact me either later this arvo or tonight. if i am successful he'll get me to go in for an induction sometime next wk. :S haha, guess it won't be the end of the world if i don't get it though.

also went to penno library this morning to return some books i'd borrowed earlier for my exams. for some reason now i'm getting into baking, so I borrowed all these baking cook books so i can hopefully start baking stuff soon! which should be exciting.. and maybe even bake stuff for WACD haha. :P
oh and i possibly may be getting a haircut tomorrow. last time it was cut was before i went overseas last Dec :P going to some guy in Epping that's meant to be goood.. recommended by church ppl :D
