RICE team meeting ~

Today was our RICE team planning meeting. We had decided to meet up in the city, since it was the only central place for all of us to meet- fine by me, since i'm now such a pro (NOT.) finding my way around the city :D nah, it's cool cos we met up at market city, which i'm pretty sure all asians in sydney know where it is!
anyways, got the 10.46 train, where i was met with a LOAD of noisy, screaming high school boys. i think they must have been on school hols (private school of course)- and i think they were with a youth group or something, going to laser tag? (well, from what i could hear from their noisy chat anyways). anyways, got to central around 11.30, where i then had to text hiroshi to ask him where exactly we were meeting in market city, since i didn't exactly wanna be standing around lonerised outside. i made my way there with about 20 mins to spare, when he texted me back and told me to meet him in the level 3 food court- but that he'd be running a bit late, so that was good; more time for me to window shop around! when it was 12pm, i went upstairs but couldn't find anyone in my group! so kinda just lingered around outside the food court, when vivian called to me from behind :P so i was kinda glad there was someone there already. hiroshi turned up a bit later, saying that the rest would be 15-20 mins late. so we went to the back of the food court where there was a large space for us to sit and talk. we decided to start, and fill the others in when they arrived.

well the whole meeting basically revolved around the planning for the 'incognito Photoshoot'; mainly cos we actually have to construct a booth, with divisions for clothes/makeup, registration, then the actual photoshoot set itself. so we pretty much spent agesss trying to come up with a proper layout, what to make the booth out of (we settled on using huge sheets of fabric hung up on wooden rods for the 'walls' and the divisions); and then dividing roles (i'm doing the rego table!) and then who would be buying/making/checking out what. so i volunteered for checking out Vinnie's for any cool/quirky costumes or accessories we can use. should be fun ^^
after that, spent the rest of the planning time on the 'binocular soccer' game- again we came into a bit of a problem with the actual binoculars themselves. see, most of us had the idea that we would be getting cheap dollarshop plastic binoculars, but hiroshi had the idea of these plastic foldable binoculars that kids use.. which NONE of us had any idea what they looked like. aaannd then, we had to decide on how we would actually attach the binoculars onto the ppl's heads- as in, on a cap, or strapped round with velcro. but yeah, hopefully we can come up with something soon.

we then finished up, said bye to viv who had to leave- then the rest of us were kinda like.. ''so, should we go somewhere to eat, or should we all just go our separate ways''. kinda awkward lol, but then we decided it would be good if we all had something to eat together, to get to know each other a bit better. so we decided on Poporo, a Jap cafe style restaurant just outside the food court. i'd walked past it heaps of times, just never really went in, seeing as it looked really pricey (like in terms of decor, and the fact it was jap.) but anyways, some of them had been there before so we decided on that. the ordering menu was really cool! (kinda like wagaya's ordering system, which our INFS tutor told us about last sem). they basically use an information system, where the customer walks in, looks at the range of dishes available, then selects their choice by using a touch screen system, then this is sent to the main computer which collects all the orders. since everything was quite pricey, i decided on a prawn katsu burger, which seemed pretty nice from the menu! hil and nat ordered burgers too. hiroshi and naomi ordered these 'doria's' (basically slab of meat with melted cheese alll over it). so we sat down near the back, so we could fit all 5 of us together, though that kinda failed, cos the sun was in our eyes if we sat facing the window, so we kinda lonered hil who didn't mind the sun while the rest of sat opposite him haha. mine came first, followed by nat then hil, then the last two dorias. the chairs were HUGE but really comfy, and the burger was pretty nice, hard to eat though!

after that, naomi went off to UTS to sort something out, nat went to where she had parked her car and the rest of us walked back to townhall, which took quite a while, would've been closer to central but oh well. we then went our ways and i went back to penno!
got home and found my MYC letter in the mail. yay :D need to start packing soon though, 5 days as well! haven't been on a whole wk camp since like, jindabyne. but yeah should be good- heard so much about it.
anyways must run- packed to the rafters is about to start!
